What people overlook is the USA is free to distance itself from the perps regardless of their race, religion, creed or nationality. All the DOJ had to do was disavow the action and invite whistleblowers to come forward, maybe secretly. Do we know for a fact this was not done?

The USA does not have to provide cover for people who use it as their cover. Remember Oliver North? He took matters into his own hands and worked with a cabal to circumvent Congress and the people of the United States. He required a pardon, once his abhorrent behavior was uncovered.

If the USA wishes to say it had nothing to do with the plan, and has no plans to issue any pardons to the perps, that'd be well within its prerogative.

As an interested citizen, I certainly advocate that course of action.

Why should my USA be held hostage by dim witted slobs? My USA wants to be friends with Russians and Germans in the future and is under no obligation to provide any cover or excuses to the perps behind this unfortunate and crazy action.
