So you might agree America helped forge an idea of personhood (diluted by lawyer-capitalism's "corporate personhood"), that we might take pride in, going forward?

Around the same time Fuller was getting a Medal of Freedom from Reagan-Casey, he was declaring "the USA we have known is now bankrupt and extinct" (Grunch of Giants, St Martin's Press) i.e. the nation-state centric narrative was nowadays farcical campy theater for nostalgia-bums (NATO generals et al).

We've seen one impotus after another since the USA's demise. I liked Tulsi's talking against "stupid wars" as indeed stupidity is a big part of it, along with cowardice. Partisan politics lives on.

I remain grateful to Uncle Sam (RIP) for inspiring many of our newer "virtual" nations (diaspora nations), many without contiguous borders, and many not members of the UN, that will have by now taken up the banners of freedom and democracy.

Fuller saw early signs of the USA's demise in its inability to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment for women. The imposter monster that took its place is run by the soulless impersons of supranational capitalism. Watching it flail is a relative pleasure.
