Recapping a Thread in Synergetics

On TrimTab I’ve been posting about what Bucky writes about as his “subconscious demon”, to whom he attributes his misbegotten fascination with his Holy Grail: a sphere of tetravolume five. It never penciled out, but the five had to be there somewhere.

Concentric Hierarchy

Cosmic Fishing by Ed Applewhite seems to chronicle when the bubble burst, sometime after the publication of the first volume. When you dovetail the two volumes, you somewhat paint over their chronology, and that obscures the fact that Synergetics 2 contains something of a retraction, and then a foray into new territory, another sprint.

The new territory is of course that of the T & E modules, and the rhombic triacontahedron, as a newly treasured member of the concentric hierarchy family. Sure, one may relate the IVM to any and all polyhedrons in 4D (four directional) space, but the concentric hierarchy is especially close-knit in Bucky’s prose. Here is where the heart is, the pulsating oscillation of positive and negative. It all centers around the duo-tet cube.
