So I’m listening to Christian Parenti, a professor, on the Jimmy Dore Show, and thinking about Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth, which Nature magazine later circles as critical path writing in the 1970s, revectoring, accelerating material.
And I’m thinking Bucky isn’t really saying too much that’s new in that pithy narrative, about Great Pirates and their minions. He’s saying what Parenti is saying, quoting some Roman dictum: factionalize and take over (except in Latin).
Parenti is talking about post-WW2 USA-based foundations, such as Rockefeller, Ford, Guggenheim etc. He’s claiming the US intelligence community (IC) steered big fortunes into social engineering projects that would not disrupt, and indeed protect, the fundamentals of the economic system, including extreme inequality.
The left was a chronic problem but could be managed, especially if divorced from Marxism. NML or Non-Marxist Leftism became a thing, and the USA IC would fund it.
